It all started when I left my job in banking. It was supposed to be an extended vacation. But it turned out to be much more than that...and much longer than I thought.
Not long after I left work, my body started breaking down piece by piece. I had a long list of fun activities planned, but I didn't do most of it. I had planned to lose the weight that have crept up on me from years of working long-hours and reckless sedentary lifestyle, but it turned out to be an uphill battle. It all began with the worst menstrual cramps I've ever experienced in my life. I've always been a mild PMS type person - I could stand the cramps with no painkillers if needed be. But this time, it was different - I was in so much pain that I was shaking! After that, it all went down hill. I felt like I was having a bad case of PMS all the time. I suffer from muscle pains along my neck, shoulder, back and even my buttocks. I had terrible mood swings that would bring on bouts of food binges where I would eat uncontrollably just to make myself feel better. I had trouble sleeping, and even when I did sleep, I would feel unrefreshed and beat-up in the morning. I could hardly motivate myself to get up in the morning, let alone going to the gym. I was tired and low on energy ALL the time. I was struggling to enjoy even the simplest things, such as surfing the net or having a meal with friends!
The irony: My friends were all jealous of me, yet I felt like a handicap trapped in my own body. I'd never felt worse about myself.
The challenging times forced me to closely examine my attitude and lifestyle that got me into this mess. Life coaching gave me the courage to face up to everything that is happening to me and showed me a clear path of how to get out of my predicament. Every week I set up goals and action plans that would take me one step closer to a healthier lifestyle that will give me my quality of life back. I checked in with my progress periodically where I would literally chart out all the obstacles that is still standing in my way and all the different ways to overcome them. I gave myself reasonable deadlines and repeatedly reminded myself of the progress I was making and why not giving up is so important for me and the life that I want. Slowly but steadily, I turned my life around, and I became fascinated with the connection between nutrition, exercise, the mind, and the body.
Looking back, it was the most difficult period of my life. But I am grateful because all of this has given me a chance to experience a type of self-discovery that is life-transforming, and I have not looked back since! Physically, I have lost more weight than I ever did and more importantly, I have been able to maintain the weight with ease in the last 3 years. With regular exercise and proper nutrition, my energy level improved tenfold and my muscles pains have reduced drastically. Mentally, I have changed my attitude in life and the way I feel about myself. I feel much more in touch with who I am and what I can accomplish in life.
Because I have personally benefited from Life coaching, I studied the technique further and insisted on integrating it into my program which also provides practical nutrition knowledge. My methods are not merely a bunch of theories - they are a direct result of what I have learned during my own struggles and what I have experimented with in my own life. No matter what brings you to me, I am 100% confident that my program can help you because it sure would have helped me when I needed it the most in the past!
